Aggravation

Aggravation game

My own children grew up playing Aggravation and loved every hour of it. I have an original game, from CO-5 Company, Benton Harbor, Michigan, dated 1962. the box is brown. I now own a daycare, and have started an Aggravation tournament. I have 4 "new" games, but the kids refuse to use these boards, and wait to use the original 4 player board. This is such a neat, fun game, answer me this: Why would the owners of this games rights change the rules and the board? Why fix something that isn't broken. Really stupid as far as I am concerned. I hired a carpenter to reproduce the original board in oak, then I painted it the original colors, it is the centerpiece of my coffee table and is in big demand with my grandchildren.

Oh yes, I remember Aggravation. My parents still have the game. Even my nephews, when they were younger, wanted to play and bugged their Grandma and Grandpa to get the game out and play.

I remember when I got married into this family. All we did was get together to play aggravation and eat. We had a million laughs, and at times I was pretty aggravated! That was in 1975 until the present day. Some of them are gone now that I played with and I miss playing this game with them. I still play with my kids and I will play it with my new grandbabies when they are old enough. I just wish the game's quality was as good. Thank you for all the fun times!

This was our family favorite! Saturday night at our grandparents house, you could hear the rolling and hollering and laughter in the kitchen as the adults played Aggravation. Us kids loved playing with our grandparents, aunts, uncles, I wish they would bring it back in its original form for Family Game Nights for families now!

Love Love Love this game. My husband bought me a new one a couple of years ago. I was SO disappointed at the quality of the "marbles" and the graphics of the board are bad. I was thrilled to find an original at the thrift store. My boys are in college now but it is still a MUST play game on game night.

I love the game!! I wish they would release a Classic version of Aggravation, complete with real marbles and the 6 tiny dice. Of course, it has to have the original board, plain blue background, colored home, etc. I would buy it in a second!!!! The newer versions of Aggravation have lost the charm - bring on the old!!!!

I am now 32 years old, but the best memory as a little girl was to go visit my grandmother and we would play aggravation over and over again. It never got boring, I am hoping to create those memories with my own children and someday my grandchildren.

My Mom still has my Aggravation game I got as a gift when I had to have my tonsils removed. One of the yellow marbles fell off the table and rolled under the fridge so we used a yellow M&M for a while... I bought the new version for my kids when they were little and found that the marbles were stupid plastic. We ended up playing the old game more then the new one...

This game became a family tradition at my Grandparents house. The kicker was that my Grandfather used to cheat all the time, but still lost! A lot of happy hours spent as a kid playing this game.

Loved this game. The glass marbles were beautiful; sometimes I would just play with those. Years after our original set got lost we bought a replacement, but the marbles had been replaced by cheesy plastic ones.

Aggravation served to start a family tradition within my family. My Mom and Dad set aside Wednesday nights as "Family Game Night". I remember with fond memories how we all looked forward to it. We would always have popcorn, soda and snacks and would play for hours. I know my parents must have enjoyed it also, as it was one of the few times that bedtimes were not enforced. I think we all hated to see the fun end! A special "Thank You" to the folks here at Retro Toys for reminding mme of a much missed simpler time. If only we could slow down our fast paced lives and have moments like this to remember and share with our children. It seems that if a game isn't "Hi-Tech", kids just aren't interested nowadays. I used to play this with my brother and sister when we were kids. We would play for hours. Now I play it with my children and they love it and so do I.

This game was SO aptly named. Nothing drove me crazier than when my brother would land on me and send my man all the way back to the beginning. Course he laughed that crazy laugh every time he got me. I can still hear him! Linda
