I loved Kerplunk! We bought my neice the new version - which is more difficult to set up - the sticks keep falling out, and the increased space meant that the marbles fall down quicker - boring!

I remember playing this game with my brother. It was one of the few indoor games we would agree to play. I am now working with a young deaf mentally challanged child and wish I had kept it as it is a game anyone can play.

What about all the other nerve-racking games from this era, like "Don't break the ice", "Don't spill the beans", "Don't break the camel's back", etc? They all made me very nervous as a child.

This game USED to be fun......when I was 4. Now it is a pain in the buttocks to play. The sticks are easily bent when trying to insert them into the holes & the marbles are usually beaned upside someone's head because the kids don't want to take the time to put the game together. I'll play anything else with my kid but not that one!

I just bought the new version of this, not because I played it as a child, more likely because I want to enjoy playing again at age 47, with aid of grandchildren, neighborhood kids etc! Never too late for a second childhood.:)

I had kerplunk when I was a kid. I loved it. My friend had it too, but when her family played, the winner was the one who got the most marbles. I thought that was dumb, since it didn't take much skill to get lots of marbles.

I think the safety rules for toys were a lot looser back then. The sticks to our Ker-Plunk game were sharp and pointy on the ends! I had put one in my mouth(as kids will do) and accidentaly poked the back of my throat with it!

does anyone remember the late 1980's television commercial jingle for it..."when it goes ker-plunk, you just, s-s-s-sunk!" marbles went flying everywhere...but it was a good "only child" game.

Loved this game, had to play it with my sisters though. They had the patience to set it up over and over.

I never actually had one of these, but played with one with an older girl in my neighborhood. I was obsessed with having one as a kid but my father refused because of the noise. Within the last few years, this former playmate's parents had a yard sale and courtesy of a head's up call from my mother I beelined over there and snapped it up. I intend on hauling it out this weekend and entertaining my nephews with it, noise and all :)

Kerplunk was my all time favorite game as a little girl growing up in Fall River Massachusetts. I loved the game so much that a couple of years ago I bought the game for my oldest son, the game however, doesn't have the same quality that was in the 1970"s version, but I love to play it all the same.

I remember playing this game all the time when I was young. I wasn't very good at it, but every once in awhile I'd do good though.
