I was the youngest of 5 kids all growing up in the 70’s.
Pivot Pool was hands down the best “family” Christmas present we ever received. Years before Atari began to take over kids imagination, this game would keep us occupied for hours on end and was a fun game to play with our parents and their friends as well.

I remember playing pivot pool with my dad for hours, I recall that Lucille Ball was on the cover of the box.I spent countless hours playing and practicing. I would be very pleased if they brought it back!! Are there any avaiable I wonder? Wow I'm old!

My son had pivot pool and lost the pool balls to it. Does anyone know where I can get them? My grandson would love to play it.

Man, I loved this game. My brother and I got it for Christmas in the 70s. He's been gone for over 10 years but one of the best memories I have is of us as kids playing this. Thanks for the opportunity to post this.

I had this game. I believe my cousin gave it to me. My fondest memory of this game was our cats Dusty and Patches getting on top of it and knocking the balls in the pocket. I know my mother has pictures.

I got a pivot pool game when I was 10 years old. I loved it, and could beat almost everybody I played. I even loved playing by myself. My son used to play with it also, but my daughter was never interested in it. I still have it; It is in my mother's basement in the orginal box. I took a look at it last week, it is still in very good condition.

I was never beaten at pivot pool. Funny thing is, I can't real play pool well enough to save my life. I can't line up balls well. But I was great at those angles in pivot pool. Don't know. Maybe it's because I looked was directly over the balls instead of at an angle when standing at a pool table. Anyway I'd love to have a Pivot Pool for my 2 kids, ages 6 and 5.

This was one of those ultimate games. Great idea, good game for all ages and a great spokesperson on top of it. I remember this game dominating all others when we'd visit family friends. In the days before Hummers, if you had Pivot Pool, your family was cool.
Makes you wish that great companies like Ideal were still around.

My family got this for Christmas in 1974 and my mother nearly sold it at a garage sale this spring. At my brothers long distance urging, she pulled it from the sale and had to tell three boys that she had changed her mind about selling it. Today, on the other side of the state, I found the exact Pivot Pool table in the box in a pile by the side of the road. And in fabulous condition. Too cool. My son loves it. I'm so glad I get to share this with him.

I got this game as a present when I was 6 in 1974. We played it for years, and I think we wore out the spring. I still think of the fun of playing pivot pool...

I had forgotten about this game. We got it for Chritmas one year. My dad taught me and my brother how to play pool with this game when we were to small for a real pool table.

I haven't thought about this game since I was a kid. When I just saw it, my jaw dropped. Now I remember the commercials with Lucille Ball. Man, I would love to play this again!!

I'll bet we kept this game for over 30 years. Even after the banding around the sides broke, my nephew still loved to play with it at grandma's. Finally the cat peed on the table, and that was pretty much the end of it. I hung onto the balls and the rack for a while longer, though. What a great game!

Ahhhh, Pivot Pool. We played this right after a rousing game of Skittle Bowl - remember that one? A wooden ball on a chain that you swung towards wooden pins on a platform - now THERE was a safe game for kids! This site is great and has brought back a flood of memories...Thanks!

But what about Pendelum Pool? Basically the same concept, except for the pivot firing mechanism, it came with a hammer on a pendulum that you used to strike the cue ball.
We played with the for months, until we started losing the balls...

I have the Pivot Pool game my dad had as a child. He got it in the early 60's I guess. It still works great! I remember us playing when I was little.
The original box recently got some water damage, but I think may be alright. Took the table out and noticed the side band "bumper" was really stretched. So, I took the whole thing apart! Cleaned it up, stretched the band held with a safety pin and it looks as good as new.
I came across this site on a google search. Was just seeing if there was any info on the game and what it could be worth. But I'm definitely not selling this one. :)

and she kicks his butt!

I would love to have this game for my children, what fun I had with my friends and family playing this great game. Retro stuff is in style, why not bring games like these back. Even if it is just for one Christmas season or for a year.

We just recently sold our old Pivot Pool at a yard sale. Our family had a lot of fun with this and it was one of the few things my older brothers would actually play with me.
My most vivid memory of this game though, was when a little neighbor boy was into the end pocket and got his arm stuck. I don't remember how my Mom got it out, put I know it took a long time.

Awesome and priceless game -- BRING BACK TOYS LIKE THIS! My boys (8, 8, & 3) play with the one that my brothers and I got for Christmas one year. Mom is in search of some replacement balls for it, but this game has paid for itself in fun and memories for us growing up and our children now. What a blast!

This was a cool game. Not only could you play pool with it, but I also use to set up my toy soldiers on it and then shoot at them with the pivot pool shooter. I still have this game, which is in very good condition. I had to replace the stretchy fabric material, that is the bumpers.

My sisters and I got this set for Christmas in the late 70's. I played with it until high school. My parents moved after I went into the military and I'm sure it got sold off or dumped somewhere. Anyway, we had hours of fun with this cool little gadget. There were a set of notches in the underside of the spring-loaded "cue" that let you set how hard you wanted to shoot the ball. I got pretty good at figuring out exactly what setting to put it on to get the desired effect. And the "cue" release was cool. Two little wing-shaped triggers (one on each side of the mechanism) with finger depressions in them. It's weird sometimes to think of the things you remember vividly...

I got Pivot Pool for Christmas (I think it was 1976 or 77) Anyway, I kept it under my bed and played with it every night until I fell asleep on the floor. I had hard wood floors in my room and my Stepfather would come into my room every night and pick me up, and put me into bed. I hated this...
One night, to prevent him from picking me up, I put all the "Pivot Pool Balls" inside of my pajama top. Thinking that this way, when he picks me up, the balls fall out and hit the floor and he just leaves me on the floor. Well, it backfired... he picked me up... the balls fell out alright, but when they hit the wood floor it scared the crap out of him, and he dropped me... ON TOP OF THE BALLS!!! It hurt like hell!!!! Needless to say, I never slept on the floor again, and I have no idea what happened to this game...

I still have a working toy! We had lots of fun with it as children...I am waiting until my children are about 7 years old before I let them play with it since I don't know how I would ever get the spring load to work again if it broke!

Man, another blast from the past! If my memory serves me, I got this for my 7th birthday. The "cue" was spring loaded you then shot the cue ball across the table and sunk the other balls. What a great table top pool table...
