I always loved watching Family Affair, I'm not sure how old I was when I got my Mrs. Beasley doll, 8-10 maybe. I still have it and it is in real good shape except for the glasses that have been taped (what else is new, right?) I would be willing to sell it if anyone were interested.

I got my doll when I was 6 years old. I still have her although she is barely recognizeable. I chewed the tips of her fingers off on both hands for some awful reason. Also my mom used (still) sells Avon and back in the 70's creamy blue eyeshadow was the rave along with painted eyebrows, so of course my Mrs. Beasley doll had to be fashionable; the make up is still on to this day. She has lost her clothes but looks just fine in a nightie that I ripped off from my sister's Strawberry Shortcake doll..She quit talking years ago and my mother sewed her arms together many times..but I still love my Mrs. Beasley doll.....She's the best!!

I can't recall exactly when I recieved Mrs. B, I would say that I was about 8 or 9 when Mrs. B meet a tragic end. I carried everywhere I went, with the exception of school. Before school I placed Mrs. B in her cradle in our basement playroom. When I arrived home I went straight away to retrieve her, she was everywhere in that playroom except her cradle. My mother had locked the puppies in there when she came to pick us up from school. At the age of 23 or so, I was in a second hand shop with my mother, she called my name and said "look", she was holding a Mrs. B doll, I burst into tears, all those years I hadn't realized how deeply that effected me...lol. We purchased her for $25.00, though her voice dosn't work, no glasses, no apron, she's precious to me. My husband teases me whenever I recall the story, in fact I sent him out of the room so I could type this. Anyway for any of you Mrs. Beasley lovers who are interested, you can to to www.backtobasicstoys.com, and there you will find your precious and most cherished Mrs. Beasley, right now she is on sale for $74.99, regular price $89.99, she is said to have the original 67 sayings.

I remember working with my daddy to earn the money for Mrs. Beasley. I bought her for $5 at the local Winn Dixie grocery store in SC. I still have her! If anyone has info on how to repair her voice box and felt feet, please post. I also need to replace her glasses and bib.

I also have very fond memories of my childhood friend Mrs. Beasley.Although, I was a little older when I got mine I was around 10 or 11 years old. None the less I was an addict of the show Family Affair and grew to really love my Mrs. B.(back in those days little girls still played with dolls at that age). Mine was given to me by my mother, and theres a whole big story on how she got her for me, that was why she was so special to me. When my family relocated I lost my Mrs. Beasley and had been wanting one all my life since. I didn't want to buy the new reprodution I wanted to get the old granny voice original 67 mattel Mrs.B so this past year after my mother past, I made it a quest to search until I finally found one and learned how to completely restore her from the inside out!I now have quite a collection of them that I have restored and decided to put some of them up on ebay for auction so as to bring the same joy I received out of getting mine(now and 38 years ago)

I recall getting Mrs. Beasley for Christmas when I was little girl (im now 35yrs)She done everthing whith me. She had the same birthday as myself and she always had her own birthday cake with candles. She was my best friend, and she loved mashed potatoes. I still have a picture of myself and her eating them at the supper table. Mrs.Beasley died three times, first two times she was just tired and wore out, then the 3rd time the dog got ahold of her and nothing was left but her voice box. So she went to mrs. Beasly heaven and took my heart with her. I got a card for her passing from my grandmaw. I miss her and would like to have her again, but I would not be able to go threw losing her again. Because after all she was my bestest of buddy when I was a little girl and i have many many pictures and memories to remember her by.

My twin sister Connie got a Mrs. Beasley doll back when we were about 8 or 9 perhaps. Can't really recall our age but know we were quite young. Anyways, she got Mrs. Beasley and I got a giant stuff Curious George. Anyways, Connie carried Mrs. Beasley with her just about everywhere. Until an aunt threw her out, by mistake, but she didn't know that. Anyways, I am looking to surprise Connie by trying to get one for her. If you know where I can get one, please let me know, PLEASE?

I still have my Mrs.Beasley. I'm 41 and I got her for Christmas when I was 5 (36 years ago). My 2 year old sister got the doll Drowsy and named her "Two". I took Mrs. Beasley everywhere. She was my best friend. I loved the plastic smell of her yellow hair and I slept with her every night. My mother made her clothes and even a pair of wire glasses when her black plastic ones broke. As she aged, my mother would glue her thumbs and fingers on to keep them from falling off. I loved listening to her voice and it was so soothing. I just went on a web-site where I could listen to her voice again and it made me cry. At Christmas 1985, we had an awful apartment fire and we had broke the bedroom window to jump 7 floors! Thank God we didn't have to but Mrs. Beasley and Bunny jumped and survived! Her skin is blackened and her hair melted somewhat but she still had on her polka-dot apron and lace collar. I made the mistake of trying to fix her voice-box about 7 years ago and now she's all ripped open with little stuffing. I am going to fix her, but I was hoping to get her voice-box fixed. I can't send her to that guy on the web-site because I would never trust mailing her anywhere! We've been through WAY too much together! Mrs. Beasley has always given gifts at Christmas and birthdays and has always been included in family events. We have a picture of her hanging on our family picture wall. When people see it they say "I didn't know you were related to Mrs. Beasley!" A few years ago, my Mom bought an Ashton -Drake collectable but she looks totally fake and Cheryl Ladd just doesn't cut it. About 3 years ago my sister bought me a Mrs. Beasley at an auction. It is an original but doesn't have the apron or collar or glasses. She also doesn't talk. My sister made her an adorable, similar outfit and gave her a magic wand and a sparkling horseshoe/shamrock brooch. I realize how very lucky I am to still have my best friend and if anyone knows how to make her talk again without sending her anywhere, please E-mail me. Also my heart broke reading some of the awful experiences some children had to go through losing their loved dolls. Diane zeppelinrules_9@hotmail.com

I remember receiving a Mrs. Beasley doll for Christmas when I was probably 4 years old. I remember that I loved that doll. She was ruined several years ago in a leaky storage room, but I still have a picture of me and Mrs. Beasley sitting under the Christmas tree that year with a big grin on my face.

I REALLY don't remember getting my Mrs. Beasley doll because I got her as a very young girl. But, I had her right up until atleast middle school. I took her everywhere. I was addicted to "Family Affair" too and with my curly red hair, I insisted my mother put my hair in pig-tails just like Buffie's. And I actually called my piggies, "Buffie's". I remember going to bed at night dreaming that I could have a big sister or cousin like "Sissy" to live with me instead of my snotty little brothers lol. How I miss her. The best part of having Mrs. Beasley is that she REALLY was a part of my family. Her last name was the same as mine and I always thought I was special.

I remember this being my favorite dolly as a little girl. The funniest memory now (though not funny then) is losing her dress. We were actually at a do-it-yourself carwash and my daddy was vacuuming the car. You know how strong those carwash vacs are, right? Well, it sucked poor Miss Beasley's dress right off. So funny now that I'm older, but I cried and cried over that. Of course there was no way to get it back. I still shared many years with her after that, even though she was dressless..:)

I don't remember getting her but I remember loving her. I took her everywhere with me and I loved wearing her glasses and have tea parties with her, she was my best fried. I don't know what ever happened to my Mrs. Beasley but I've never forgotten her and I didn't realize how much until I sat down and started reading these memories; crying like a baby.

I came across one in a giftshop flyer a few Christmases ago, I told my parents and my sister that was all I wanted but when I went to see her they were all sold out. My sister even tried to get one off of ebay for me one year and I've looked at them myself but it's not the same and they're so expensive but I just might bite the bullet. I miss you Mrs. Beasley!

I remember talking to her and playing all the time together. One day I came home from school and my brother had hung her from the stair case. The following day I came from school and my parents said that I was to big to play with dolls and they buried her in our backyard. That was the saddest day ever. Even now at 41 I still miss her. I remember having Mrs. Beasley when I was seven years old. (My dad REALLY remembers it).

I remember giving taking off her little neck tie thing and washing it. I hooked it over the shower head to dry, and days later I had forgotton about it. The shower started getting plugged up to the point my dad had to call a plumber. I still remember the plumber pulling out Mrs. Beasley's neck tie and my dad looking at me...(he was NOT too happy). We laugh about it today.

My hubby got me a Mrs. Beasley about a year ago, which my niece now plays with. I absolutely LOVE Mrs. B.

I was 4 or 5 years old when I got Mrs. Beasley. I loved her. She was sweet and I caring. Growing up in a violent, alcoholic-centered household, she was my comfort. I learned to tie my shoes by first tying Mrs. Beasley's apron. I miss her.

All I wanted for Christmas that year was Mrs. Beasley. And after opening all my presents there was no Mrs. Beasley....but wait, Santa hid a special present for me and there she was. That was 1967 (I think). I played with her FOREVER. I still have my well played with doll and my husband surprised me with a mint condition original, as well as a replica. I even named my first beagle Mrs. Beasley!

I was 3 years old and was so hoping that Santa would bring me a Ms. Beasley doll for Chrismas. I loved watching Buffy play with hers on Family Affair. My favorite movie has always been Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. My mother said that I was deeply intent into watching Rudolph that night in December of 1970. At the very end as Santa pulled away up into the sky, I spotted a Ms. Beasley doll popping out of Santa's toy bag. My mother said I burst into tears because I just knew that if Santa only had one that some other little girl would get it before he made it to my house. She said I was so pitiful that she had to fight from giving me the one she already had wrapped up for me. Needless to say, I was a very happy little girl that Christmas morning of Dec. 25, 1970.

I loved my Mrs. Beasley doll. I came home from school one day, and my brother had cut her voice box out. BOY was I mad. Until this year ( app. 30 years have past) I thought my youngest brother did it, but my oldest brother admitted to cutting her up. I might be 41, but pay back is devil!

Mrs. Beasley Doll: I had one of these as a little girl, and LOVED her. Coming from a family of 10, having something that "belonged" to me was nearly impossible, ... so she was so special to me. My father was in Vietnam, we lived in a big scary house outside of Detroit MI, I felt secure with Mrs. Beasley's big smile and happy big blue eyes, and even better, she talked! One day I discovered my Mrs. Beasley doll in our backyard blown apart. A family friend thought it would be "cool" to see what firecrackers would do to Mrs. Beasley. I tried to keep the "scrapes" of what was left of her. My mother promised me she would buy me another doll someday, ... but alas I never got one. The reason I would want one now as a gift is I would keep it to play for my Grandchildren, and share with them how much she meant to me as a little girl, ... and let them experience the same.

I am sorry, but this was an ugly doll I did not want. I thought she looked a little creepy with her "granny " glasses. I don't remember or understand why Buffy named her that. A doll for a little girl should not have been an old lady who I assumed was a widow becaues there was no mention of Mr. Beasley.( I suspect she was old because of the glasses) How were you expected to play with this doll? You couldn't pretend she was your baby or friend and she didn't come with cool outfits to change into either. I don't recall any of my friends owning or wanting this doll. I am glad I don't have memories of playing with Mrs. Beasley.

I too had a Mrs. Beasley doll when I was little. I remember her being my buddy when facing the darkness of my room at nights. Flash forward 35 years looking for my long last friend I found one on Ebay.com On my 37 birthday she arrived in the mail to make the best birthday ever! I even cried own I heard her voice. I though to myself being a grown women how silly this was but when my parents divorced and my childhood house was sold this one doll brought back so many happy good times for me in just that one moment. Today I restore Mrs. Beasley's for others and sell them on ebay. under mrsbeasleydolls.com . I do this as a hobbie. A very rewarding one at that! Making someone fell just like me for that one moment returning them to the great feeling of childhood once again!

Oh, those cousins....you ask for something, and THEY get it! oh, I was SO jealous of Patty for getting this doll!(she is 5 years younger than I am, and well, she would never appreciate such a treasure!) and besides, everyone knew I was the one who was in love with the show Family Affair! anyway..years later---say 35, I got one at a doll show..I was SO excited. I wrote and told Patty that I had gotten one...she said...Mrs Beasly scared her to death, and she would have GLADLY given her to me-she kept having repeated nightmares that she was chasing Patty up the steps. now, I feel bad for being so envious

Mrs. Beasley was my favorite doll of all time! When I was 8, the Salvation Army had a toy drive for those "less fortunate" kids. I knew that I loved her so very very much, so someone else without a Mrs. Beasley would love her too. Well, I am now 37 and still miss my Mrs. Beasley. My husband and I found one in an antique store and I just busted out crying! I was so happy to see her again!

I had a Mrs. Beasly doll when I was younger, she was my best friend and prized possession. My brother got a hold of her and painted her face with a marker (like a sharpie)and cute her fingers off for some reason. Anyway, one day when I was sick my grandmother bought me a new doll and it made me feel better right away. I just loved trying her glasses on and having tea together. I got Mrs. Beasley for my 7th or 8th birthday. I came home from school and my mom told me to take my things upstairs. I went up and found Mrs. Beasley waiting for me on the bed. I was so excited and I loved her. My brother operated on her and she never talked again. I never heard her ask me to tea again. Never let your brother operate on any doll.

Mrs. Beasley was my dearest friend and companion. A favorite toy, she travelled everywhere with me. On a family vacation to Florida, my father, who truly is the kindest, warmest man you'll ever meet, decided to tease me. I was riding with our good friends in the car behind him, when he grabbed Mrs. B and hung her out the window as we drove along the highway. As I grew over the years and realized this act alone was all I needed to guilt my father into just about anything.

Flash forward 30 years and my parents are visiting my husband and I. I come home after work and greet mom and dad and hubby with kisses and hugs and as I turn I catch a memory out of the corner of my eye. MRS. BEASLEY is sitting in one of my living room chairs. Without a word of a lie I went from 40 years old to 6 in 10 seconds. It was like time travel. I couldn't comprehend ... was I dreaming... was it REALLY Mrs. Beasley. I ran and grabbed her to pull her string and the familiar "You're the best friend I ever had" soothed me.

My father had purchased the "collector" Mrs. Beasley and surprised me. Later my mother tried to descrive the look on my face...fear, confusion, joy...

I have long ago forgiven my father for the "Beasley Incident" but somehow this puts the issue finally to rest. As well, I get a real kick out of the follow up mail my father gets from the purchasing group, "Gary O'Neil, hope you are enjoying your Mrs. Beasley"

I received my Mrs. Beasley for Christmas when I was 7 or 8 years old. We used to watch Family Affair every week. I always thought Sissy was soooo pretty and I always wished I was Buffy. Evindently most little brothers are pretty much alike. One of mine (I have 4!) always had to see what made things work, so needless to say, Mrs. Beasley didn't get to talk very long after she came to live with me!! (I still have issues about that!!!) I have just discovered Mrs. Beasley on EBAY!! So it won't be too long before I have another one. I can't wait. I don't think anyone who didn't have a friend like her can ever understand the love and adoration that we have towards her. She was always more than just a doll to me, even after she couldn't TALK! I have a 10 yr old daughter now and she doesn't really understand either. But she has so MANY dolls and toys that nothing holds a extra special place in her heart. That kind of makes me sad that she'll never know how it feels to have a "Mrs. Beasley". (but she not getting mine!!)

My memory of Mrs Beasley, I remember going to a Christmas party when I was about 9 years old. I still have my Mrs. Beasley doll. I received her when I was 5. I'm 40 now. She is better-traveled than most PEOPLE I know, as I've taken her everywhere with me! She was the last gift my father gave me for Christmas (he died 6 months later when I was 6) and as beaten-up as she is, I still love her with all my heart. She sits in my bedroom on a rocking chair, hands neatly folded.

I found a "new" (used) Mrs. Beasley doll at a resale shop years ago. I bought it for my eldest daughter. She looks like my Mrs. Beasley when she was brand new, but she's definitely NOT "mine." MY Beasley worked her way into my very soul and nothing in the world can replace her.

When I burp at work, I say, "Excuse MEASLEY, Mrs. BEASLEY". My younger coworkers say, "Who is Mrs. Beasley?" And I tell them it's from the show Family Affair and she was Buffy's doll. So we looked up websites for pictures of Mrs. Beasley and we found this site.

I remember Mrs. Beasley ... what a pest!! My baby sister had one and we couldn't do A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G without that doll!!! Once our car got stolen and Mrs. Beasley was in it - my sister cried for a week! Luckily they found the car - complete with The Beas, none the worse for wear. Even after her voicebox broke, she was still loved whole heartedly. Being the "older sister", we noticed how dirty and stinky Mrs. B was so one day we decided to give her a bath. So, we filled up the tub with bubbles, and tossed her in there and scrubbed away. She's pretty much foam inside and days later, she was starting to mold ... so Mom decided we better expedite the drying process .. and tossed her in the dryer. You might remember that Mrs. B has plastic hair - not well-suited for the dryer. We had the only Afro-version Mrs. Beasley (I still think it's funny). My sister was so angry at me, she ripped the arm off of my Thumbelina doll. Even with the limb re-attachment, neither Mrs. B nor Thumbelina were ever the same again!

Wasn't childhood great?!? Eventually Mrs. B was replaced, but it just wasn't the same. She's lost her voice again, and her glasses are missing too. )-:

There must be a run on birthday Beasley's! For my 38th birthday this month, my 2 yr old twin girls (OK my husband) are searching for an original. I was so little I don't remember receiving my beasley doll, but I remember playing with her and listening to her talk. She was my only doll until I was about 8 and I loved her to pieces. I don't know what happened to her. My sister found Beasley's apron in her attic, but no doll.

I got a Ms. Beasley doll when i was real young- and we went camping in Fla and left her at a rest stop on the Ga- Fla line, Miles up the road 2 men in a car held her up to the window as they passed other cars, well to say i got my doll back on the interstate. I was so happy, well years later I thought i outgrew her and left her outside one night and she was ruined- I cried and cried to get another one and when i was around my mid 20's my mom found one at a store(used) and she bought it. Now she has it somewhere- i'm 34 now and bug her at lease one a week to find my doll. Now I'm going to get another one. Somethings you just can't outgrow, no matter how much you try, and I see here by the number of people sending in their stories- the numbers are high, i'm so glad i'm not alone. Thank-you Ms. Beasley for 30+ years for such wonderful memories, may she live on with us for another 30+ years.

I think I had about 3 or 4 Mrs. Beasley dolls when I was little. She met too many misfortunes - the first one had her head taken off by my brother. The second one had her "voice box" taken out by the same brother. The third one I actually kept for some time but then my Mom gave her to one of my cousins once I had gotten too big to play with dolls. I wish she had not done that - I loved my Mrs. Beasley. I tried to get my daughter one when she was little but they had stopped making them years and years before that - I am so happy to see her back!!!!!

I am the 37-year old who got the Mrs. Beasley for my birthday. I was so happy to get another one! I am going to keep her in the box until I get a special acrylic case made for her so no one can touch her and detroy her ever again. Sounds like I need a little couch time? Probably so, but all I know is that whatever belongs with you will come back into your life again, eventually.

A MEMORY FOR MY SISTER. My sister loved Mrs. Beasley. She has had 3 of them in her lifetime. She took such special care of them (for a 3yr old). One Mrs.Beasley received a bath, because "she got dirty". Of course, she didn't survive. She was replaced with another Mrs. Beasley who "had to use the bathroom", so she was flushed down the toilet. Her 3rd Mrs. Beasley was accidentally left at our sitter's house and I remember my mother calling the sitter and driving across town at 3AM. My sister couldn't sleep without her.I don't quite remember what happened to that doll. So for my sister's 37th Birthday on June 18th, she will get a chance to make new memories and share them with her 1yr old daughter. Mrs. Beasely will be my birthday gift to her. Happy Birthday Kiddo! Love Tracy

I had a Ms. Beasley doll when I was very little, I loved her very much but one night my mom said she actually heard the doll talking to me, so she took it and cut off its head and arms and legs and got rid of her. I really wish I could get an original Ms. Beasley doll again but I probably will never find one or be able to afford it. If anyone has one I would sure treat it real good.

Childhood was painful.Mom worked, grandparents pretty much watched my brother and I. I was sick alot, besides strep throat, high fevers, which I was later diagnosed with epilepsy. The days resting on my grandma's couch listing to the old grandfather clock and holding Mrs. Beasley was very comforting. My Grandparnts passed away in the 90's. They were still young and I still needed them. I received the old grandfather clock. But something was missing. Well "my husband" found me a Mrs. Beasley. Yes, she looks like she has been loved. I just tell myself that she was being loved by other child. Memories of our childhood are priceless. I have "my three sons" now and hope that when I become a Grandmother that I will be just as good as my grandparents was to me. Thank You Guy and Esther Cullison. I will love you forever. Till we meet in heaven, your Granddaughter Brenda

When I was about 7 or 8 my Mrs. Beasly doll's head fell off. My mom told me I would need to throw her away because she could not be fix. Well, I refused to throw her away, and played with my headless doll until my mom found one at a garage sale and gave it to me. When I got my "new" doll I walked my "old" doll to the wood pile, and put her on top like she was a sacrifice. I love my Mrs. Beasley dolls. I still have my "new" doll.

I just found my Mrs.Beasley doll in my garage pack away with other childhood toys. I gave her to my 6 year old daughter and told her that this is Mrs.Beasley and that she was my doll when I was your age. The smile that I seen on my daughters face was just priceless. Now, she has gone fast asleep with Mrs.Beasley close beside her, just like I did at her age. Mrs.Beasley brought so many good memories to my life that I can only hope that she does the same for my little girl. I am also going to try and order my daughter a new one since my Mrs.Beasley's voice box is broken. My two older brother's probably had something to do with that! HA!HA!

I got Mrs Beasley as a child. I think when I had measles and was locked in the house. I loved my Mrs Beasley doll. I slept with her, took very good care of her, and carried her every where. I loved Buffy and Jody too!! I think my mom sold her at a yard sale. Today, a little girl came to our office and had glasses just like Mrs Beasley and it reminded me of her and all of the great memories I had with her. She meant so much......I had to have one. So, I'm going to order her now, share my memories with my daughter and cherish her forever!!

Mrs Beasley has been and always will be my favorite doll. I lost her when I was about 4 or 5. She was with me everywhere!!! But alas, my parents decided I didn't need her company any longer and sent her on her way. Needless to say, I replaced her with a giant teddy bear but it was never the same. So now I will begin my search for beloved childhood doll and hopefully I can find one to do her memory justice.

I got Mrs. Beasley for graduating from Kindergarten to first grade, that had to be in 1967. I used to sit and watch Family affair and would put Mrs. Beasley on the ottoman next to me so she could see herself on TV! I still have her, she is tucked away in a safe place but she no longers has her glasses, and I don't think she talks anymore either, but she is still so full of LOVE! I have often thought of selling her, but deep down inside knowing she was gone would worry me wondering if she is being taken care of, SO I will keep her safe! I am now 42, and she is 37, we have been together a very long time.

I still have my Mrs. Beasley doll. She was my favorite doll. She Is in pretty good shape considering how much I played with her. I even took her with me when I would sleep over at my grandmother's house. I accidently left Mrs. Beasley on the porch overnight. Lucky for me she was still there in the morning. I was so relieved. One time, I cried because my mother would not allow me to take Mrs. Beasley with me to have my picture taken. I use to roll Mrs. Beasley's hair on curlers and tease it. My younger brother threw her glasses in the fire place; there was a fire in there. But, I still have her to this day.

Mrs. Beasley was and still is my bestest friend. Yes I too am to old for her,36 yet she still sits atop my dresser right by the head of my bed!! My husband and 3 sons seem to think she is creepy but not I, I think she is still the best. My parent's divorce was final a few days before I turned 4. My Mom, Granny and I went shopping to find her. From the moment I opened the box, she was never far from me. She saw me through all the rough times in my life, teen years, college (yes she went along too), marriage, children, she has been here for everything. I don't hold her as much as I used to but I hold her in my heart everyday that I see her! I am saddend my those of you who don't still have your friend. :(

When I was 6, the only thing I asked Santa for was a Mrs. Beasley doll. My parents looked high and low but could not find her anywhere. They searched throughout that year and the next but still did not find any for sale anywhere. I was devastated and believe it or not, that's how I came to not believe in Santa anymore. Just this week, I received a box in the mail, and to my surprise I got a Mrs. Beasley doll!! My older sister had promised me when we were kids that someday, she would get it for me. She found one in mint condition and didn't tell me she was sending it to me. She lives in California and I live in Maine. I am 35 now, and let me tell you... I got Mrs. Beasley when I was about 4 or 5. I took her everywhere. I loved that freaking doll. Once she got so worn out, that my grandma said she was taking her to some doll hospital to have her head re-atatched, anyway about 15 years ago I found her in a sack up in a closet at my grandma's house, head still OFF. Needless to say I was very upset, but happy to see it was still around, she even still talked. Then before I had a chance to have her repaired myself, my grandma decided to throw out all the JUNK in that closet so she long gone now. I sure wish I still had that stupid doll. I received my Mrs. Beasley for my late october B'day when I was about 7 or 8 or something. I am the youngest of 5 kids and I don't remember getting many 'popular' dolls. I must have bugged my mom TO DEATH to have actually gotten this one. My family would torture me by calling her Mrs. Bee's Knees. I remember correcting them each time until I gave up in frustration.

Mrs. B was my hero. She was my best friend. For years, she was the one who kept the Boogey Man from getting me each night. She kept the lightning and thunder from destroying our house. She was the best friend I ever had.

I finally gave her up when she no longer had a stable piece of fabric to sew back together. I still have her original head and hands but all else is gone. I am not surprised though- Boogey Man and weather protection are VERY hard work.

Dear Mrs. Beasley,

I really wanted Tina Ballerina but my sister and I were fighting over which one of us Santa would give her to that Mom made the call...I got you instead. But, you ended up being my best loved doll...traveling to Mexico on family vacations, wearing overalls instead of your polka-dot outfit I thought was too chilly (the skirt opened in the back!), a bright green baseball cap and a pair of my baby sister's old glasses. My brother broke yours when he tried them on and I cried for you. You just kept smiling. I loved you so much! I remember begging Mom to knit you a pair of long-john PJ's...you still wear them under the old pair of overalls as you patiently lay in the cedar box with all my childhood memorabilia. Your voice box is silent but your eyes speak so eloquently...I'd like to think you might still love the little girl that I used to be!

I loved my Mrs. Beasley doll, but one thing bothered me...when you pulled her string, my doll would repeat the same phrase, which was, "Speak a little louder, dear, Mrs. Beasley can't hear you!" I remember my Mrs. Beasley doll very well, especially the pink nail polish stain on her arm from when I thought she should have her nails painted....

Mrs. Beasley was the same doll that Buffy from the 1960's tv programme "Family Affair"...Brian Keith portrayed Uncle Bill, and Sebastian Cabot as his butler Mr. French. Buffy had her own Mrs. Beasley doll, but as I recall, mine spoke. There was a string I could pull and I seem to remember her saying in a shaky, granny voice..."My, what a pretty little girl you are!"

I still have her and all of the accessories. She has had too many surgeries to count and stitched back together lovingly by my mother and grandmother. She was the best doll ever. I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one tortured by my parents and siblings with the idea of dolls that come to life. I'm permanently scared from my parents allowing me to watch "Trilogy of Terror" when I was 5 or so and then grabbing me from behind when the suspense was building to make me jump. Family Affair was the best show in the world to me and my big sister when we were growing up, and that Mrs Beasley doll was like something out of a fairytale, how wonderful it would be to BE that little girl and have that wonderful doll! I am grown now, my sister got married in may, her name is now Mrs Beasley! ~laughing~ I thought that was so funny in a poetic-kismet kind of way, that I have been looking for a Mrs. Beasley Doll for her every since she got married, but I cannot pay $80 for a doll, I saw one in a catalog somewhere, "things you never knew existed" or something like that, I have been trying to find it online if I could, I hope I do, I would love, love, love to send my sister the Mrs. Beasley doll we wanted so bad when we were small.

I remember gettting my Mrs. Beasley doll. I was fairly old to be asking for a doll, and was very excited to get it! I still have it. The voice box doesn't work anymore, (Thanks to this site, I now can remember the phrases she said!)and her glasses and collar are missing. But I have her stowed in a box. My 18 year old daughter carried my Mrs. Beasley around when she was a toddler, and called her simply, "Bea". Thanks for the memories! Mrs. Beasley and Chattie Cathy are two dolls from my past that I remember fondly. I wonder what toys OUR kids will be looking back on fondly as "retro toys"? It's fun to think about!

My mommy had a Mrs. Beasley Doll when she was 4, then she burnt in a fire. My mommy wondered why she had such big yellow feet. I need to get her another one.

I got my first Mrs. Beasley doll for Christmas when I was 3 or 4 years old. Immediately, I ran with her to my bedroom and drew great big eyelashes on her. WHY? I have NO IDEA -- LOL! The eyelashes stayed on her the whole time I had her and I remember how ratty and torn she eventually became. A few years ago, my MIL bought me a replica Mrs. Beasley doll to add to my childhood memories. What a fun little doll she was!

Both my friend and I got a Mrs. Beasley for Christmas about 1970. We would both pull our dolls' strings at the same time trying to get both dolls to say the same phrase. That was a lot of fun. I still have Mrs. Beasley but her glasses are missing but overall, she's in fairly good condition.

Please forgive me, Ladies, I loved Buffy so much and was upset when she lost her doll at one time, but I thought Mrs Beasley looked like an old school teacher.

On Christmas 1966 when I was 12 I received a Mrs. Beasley doll as a Christmas gift. She was the last doll I got from "Santa." She was a hot item that year and difficult to find. My Mother telephoned Curtis Sporting Goods, the local toy and sporting goods store. My Mother asked if they had a Mrs. Beasley, and a man responded, "Yes, but she is out to lunch." The owners of the store were then and still are Mr. and Mrs. Beasley!

Well, being interested in mechanical things and especially pullstrings I do remember that doll. She came in all shapes and sizes it seemed like. There were some with long arms and some with really short arms and big hands, you get the idea.

Ms. Beasley met a strange fate in my back yard. When I found her, nothing but head and limbs remained. A horse found the "secret place" and ate her. I think I was mad when it happened. Like, GEEZ which one of the boys did this??? We still have pictures of Xmas morning with me in my underwear, a little brunette who had a hair do just like the doll in the box. (dreaded Pixie haircut!!) I think I loved my Crissy doll more and wanted a Holly Hobbie so bad. Lead me to your Crissy doll msg board!!

this is the 4th time, i write my info in, and nearly click on 'add memory' ...and I am tickled to see others who DID do it.... anyway, My cousin had a Mrs Beasley--and I was so angry that christmas, because Patty was SO much younger than me, she didn't even know who she was. after all, I was the Family Affair fan!! well,Patty kept having nightmares, of Mrs Beasly chasing her up their spooky basement steps. a few years ago, when I told her I had gotten one at a doll show, she said...ARGH--I HATE THAT DOLL....I had nightmares all the time....you should have just taken mine!---sure...NOW she tells me!!

I was floored and so distraught when my beloved Mrs Beasley, whom I had just not long ago received for Christmas had her arm amputated (and without anesthesia). A neighborhood beast (her name was Jameeta) was trying to take her from me. We had a tug-o-war, and RIPPP!, off came the arm. I cried like a B-A-B-Y. Thank God my BIG sister sewed the arm back on, and I was on my way to recovery. I never remember what happened to my Mrs. Beasley. I guess now she's in Beasley heaven.

I loved my Mrs. Beasley and cried buckets o' tears when my pesky younger brother decided to give her an appendectomy. My mother had to sow her back up but I knew she'd never be the same after the horrific trauma of surgery without anesthesia.

I never really played with dolls as a little girl, but Mrs. Beasley was one doll I loved. I can still hear her sayings in my head "Would you like to try on my glasses, you may if you wish." and "Talk a little louder dear, so Mrs. Beasley can hear you." and "Do you wanna hear a secret, I know one."

Mt mom had a Mrs.Beasley doll when she was a little girl. I htink her aunt gave it to her. She hated it. From the first day she got her she was scared of her. My mom kept her in the bottom of her closet for years and the sound of Mrs. Beasleys voice terrified her. Now shes 42 years old and is still frightned by thoughts of Mrs.Beasley. For my moms birthday I decided to print her out an extra large picture of her favorite doll from the past and write this memory for her. Happy Birthday Mom!

The most infamous and notorious doll from the late sixties/early seventies. My younger sister had this doll, amd I remember always stealing her away from her and subjecting Beasley to some hideous form of "older brother" type harrasment! *L*!

i got my mrs. beasley for christmas when i was about three or four years old. i still have the picture of me opening her up. when we moved, mrs. beasley got put in a box that didn't come with us right away, and i was devistated! i remember putting vaseline in mrs. beasley's hair (after all, i saw my mom putting some kind of stuff -- alberto VO5 maybe? -- in her hair, so it must have been alright). she had quite the hair do when i got done with her. i broke mrs. beasley's glasses trying to put them on my uncle.

I loved my Mrs. Beasley doll and kept her on top of my bed. I would comb her hair and keep her very neat and clean. So you can imagine how mortified I was when I came home one day to find my older brother had made red rings around her eyes with a red ink pen! A few weeks later he had jumped on my bed and broke her voice box and broke her glasses in half! She looked like she had been in a drunken brawl. I was so upset.

I just learned recently, however, that my brother had felt so bad about what he did that a few months ago he looked into buying me a new doll for my 40th birthday but couldn't find one.

The morale of the story: Mrs. Beasley is indestructible and guilt lasts a long time! :-)

Wow what a memory, I had blond hair and everyone said I looked just like buffy. For Christmas I asked Santa for a Mrs. Beasley doll. I didn't get it seems it was so popular that the stores ran out before my parents could get me one oh well not really scared for life if I could just get rid of the voices hmmmm

I still have my Mrs. Beasley from way back when. She lost her glasses when I was a kid, and I always justified it by saying that she had gotten contact lenses. Other than missing her glasses, she's still like new and I still love to hear her talk.

I rec'd my Mrs. Beasley when I was 4, I had her for many years after that. I remember she was so worn. I too slept with her every night. My doll's head was very loose, and about to fall off. My mother wanted to throw her away because she was so torn. I remember looking in the trash barrel out back, and there she was! My mother had thrown her there in hopes I would not see her. I could not get her out! I cried for days, but got over it. As an Adult, I have wanted one for so long. Yesterday I turned 35, and my 74 year old mother presented me with the best birthday gift I could have ever imagined. I got a Mrs. Beasley Doll. She is in great condition, she talks, and has her glasses. She is in mint condition. I cried when I opened the gift. I can now share my wonderful memories of her with my daughters. Thanks for letting me share my story.
