I Still remember how much fun it was to ride. I got it for Christmas. It was a simpler time back then. Sometimes I wish I could go back to that time. I eventually got to big for it and broke it.

OMG!!! I can't believe that there is this site to add our memories of Inchworm!! lol, I just saw this movie called Roll Bounce tonight and saw an inchworm in the front yard in one of the scenes! I came online and typed in inchworm and I found this! I remember fondly that this toy was my absolute favorite! I used to scoot and ride this toy down the street everyday. Sadly, it was one of the toys my parents gave away in a garage sale so that we could move to California when I was 6 :( what a sad day that was. Thank you for this site..it's always good to remember things that made you so happy in your youth!

I LOVED my inchworm. My twin sister and I got them for Christmas. Long about Spring our older brothers decided it was time to ride them down our steep driveway in a race. Those inchworms broke in half and the boys tried to apoxy and tape them back together so we wouldnt notice. Mom was mad and we cried for weeks. The minute we sat on them after the repair they split in two. So sad to lose a favorite that way but I can't count the times that story has been told time and again at family gatherings.

I can't tell you how happy I am to find fellow inch worm lovers! My sister and I spent hours creaking up and down the hallway and took great pride in cleaning him with q-tips. I am strongly considdering getting one for my kids on e-bay, I wonder if they will take as much pleasure from him?

I never had an Inch Worm, but I was forever eyeing the one my nextdoor neighbor had and forever plotting ways to snatch it. I have ALWAYS wanted one, and I'm going to pray to the toy faerie that someone eventually makes an adult-sized Inch Worm! =)

I still remember when it was just the two of us, me and my inch worm. I loved my inch worm! When I felt a need for speed...I'd hold on tight and zoom through the house on my inch worm. Those were the good ol' days.

When I was little, I had an inchworm and loved him so much. I remember my mom gave him away to my neighbor. She did not ask if she could. She thought I had outgrown him. I was so upset. Last year, my boyfriend and I were talking about the toys that we owned during childhood. I told him about my inchworm and how much I loved him. At 35, my boyfriend bought me one. I am too big to ride him but I sure love having it.

This was my FAVORITE toy as a child. I have fond memories of riding my inch worm until it was stolen from my grandparent's home. I tell everyone about my inch worm and many don't remember this toy. A colleague just sent me this link! I'm so happy to see how many people loved this toy. If I had kids, I'd definitely buy it for them. I'm tempted to get it for myself but don't think I'd ever get the guts to bounce on this thing in public.

My sister Kelly got an Inch Worm for Christmas one year. She was 3 or 4 years old at the time which would have been 1972-1973. She was always a chubby little thing and I use to get a real kick out of watching her almost break his back. That toy was tough. She would ride the hound of it. I'll never forget it.

OMG! I loved this toy as a kid. I don't recall how old I was but it wasn't that old. This was one of my all time faves. I used to bounce my baby brothers up and down the sidewalk at my Me-maw's place. Once I got to big for it, it got passed down to my brothers. We wore that poor little inch worm out, but it was well loved. Even some of the neighbor kids would get in on the fun. Wonderful memories.

I had one of these... wonderful fun for me and my friend Shirley at my grandmother's house. unlike many riding toys you didn't peddle or anything just bounced... what kids do best if it aint bouncing off the walls let em bounce on an inchworm.... I found one on a site when I entered vintage toys as a search... think it was like the 5th site on the list... they wanted $250 still in the box. I see someone said no price too high... maybe that is just the one for them.

I was in love with my Inchworm back in the 70's!I rode that thing up and down hundreds of times, and shared it with my sisters and brother growing up in Brooklyn before we moved and who knows where it went after that. Now I'm a 35 year old wife, mom of 2, and avid garage sale hunter living in Warwick, NY. You could'nt imagine the UTTER JOY I felt when I found my childhood friend just minutes from my home. My husband did'nt understand why I was so excited but seriously, picture this grown woman running toward a garage sale inchworm, hair flying back, and practically near tears when I grabbed it up and hugged it like a long lost member of my family!!!! P.S. I bought it for just 3 bucks!!

My father used to remove the noisy stuff from my toys before I got them...He spent all night trying to remove the sound maker from this toy after searching everywhere for one for me in the early 70's. It could not be done. HA!!! Served him right for altering an innocent child's toys!!!!!!!

I can still hear that sound in my head. I loved that toy. Must have put 50,000 miles on it on our sidewalk alone!!!!!

What joy to see one again!!!!!

Wow, memories... My favorite present from Santa was my Inchworn. I still have the picture my mom took of me sitting on it. I was so excited! I remember my parents telling me not to sit on it in the livingroom (I guess the noise annoyed them) so I would just pull it behind me and pet it like a dog.

There's a home video I have where my sister is learning to ride a bike, and im in the background on my inchworm! My parents were obviously focusing on my sister, and I'm in the background with my hair in a ponytail straight on top of my head, bouncing away. As I'm getting further and further away (although rather slowly because I was pushing it forward so the wheels made the cranking sound), my mom finally looks and goes, "Oh jeez...Dannie's way out there." My dad zooms in as my mom starts calling for me to come back, and boy did I ever bounce away then!! I got pretty far before mom caught up and took away inchy. I had to walk back...not nearly as fun!

I was about 5 years old and we lived on a hill that had a long side walk that went from my house down to the end of the street. I loved riding my inch worm all the way down as it made a "scruching" noise that was I guess a happy sound as I made my way down to the corner.I got some pretty good speed ( for a 5 year old) I could almost get him back up the hill. But I would get stuck half way and end up pushing him back the rest of the way.I spent alot of time going back and forth on my old buddy. I dont remember what happened to him. But to this day I think of that toy with joy as I drive up or down that street.I wish they still made him I know my niece and nephew would have loved him as much as I did.

I am 32 now with seven kids of my own, but I still remember my grandmother bringing me this as a present. My mom still has the videotape of me sooooooooo excited about getting it. My dad videotaped me for such a long time. I was only like 3. Seeing the inch worm now after all this time brings back such memories, especially since my father passed away last year. I had one. I used to ride it like anyone else and it was ok. However, my fondest memory was when we were playing with smaller action figures in the following years like Star Wars, Gi Joe, and eventually transformers. I was gettig a little old to be doing it but I had the advantage of ownignolder toys like inch worm. I came from a day when things were bigger than my little brother's toys. Inch worm was still around the house and when we assembled our super teams from different genres to prepare for battles, I'd go for inch worm as it served as a huge dinosaur that even the biggest transformer could not compete with.

I loved this toy! One of the happiest times of my life was at one of my siblings baptism, and the entire family was gathered on the back patio for the special occasion (in their loud, colorful 70's fashionwear). And, I remember being so happy and obsessed with constantly riding this things because it was so much fun to me?? Odd, I know. I went back and forth on the patio in my own little world (and the patio wasn't very large). It was a happy time for me.

Yes, I had an Inchworm. It was an interesting concept. I remember, my sister pushing me on it one time when I was six. I never had one. My cousins had one and i tried it once (for about 1 minute. I felt like an idiot). They didn't really use it, either. There was only one inch worm and six of my cousins, but no one ever really rode it. No one ever fought over it. It never could compare with my "Huffy" bike. Anyone remember those? They were sort of like the first mountain bikes with the thick "knobby tires". And it had a big sort of plaque with a number 4 on the front between the handlebars, like a race car number (i really don't know why). I also had one of those really tall orange flags (like 6 feet tall) attached to the back of my bike. It kept falling off though. Dad could never get it to stay on. My friends and i used to lay caterpillars on my driveway and run over them on our Huffy bikes. I'll always remember their green innards that used to squirt out of their heads and back ends. My driveway looked like a war zone (for caterpillars, that is).

You know, I don't remember actually ever using the thing. I do remember it as an overturned fixture in the corner of the yard by the sandbox. The plastic cracked through in a bunch of places and the metal band inside was very rusted. Those worms just don't stand up to Wisconsin winters. Then I remember mowing around the thing when I got old enough to have to mow the lawn. The grass growing over it got to be like a foot long. Rest in peace, Inch worm
