Land of the Lost

Read memories from others.

One of my favorite shows on Saturday. Lots of over acting, but the story was good. I liked the original Dad better.

Me and guys at work laugh about the Slee-Stacks. Someone will bring them up at a dull moment, and the whole room would roar with laughter.

This show was fun – even the opening sequence. Even as a kid, I felt the rapids looked like the water running out of the hose in the back yard.

I liked the lizard-like “Slee-stacks”. I hated the friendly monkey-kid they named “Chucka” or something. And let’s not forget “Grumpy” the T-Rex.

In spite of the tremendous overacting, this show, among other “Sid & Marty Kroft” productions, still holds a good memory of Saturday morning for me.

My friends and I used to love this show. We would watch it on Saturday mornings and then play it later. A couple of years ago my sons and I found it at the library on VHS. Wow! The weekly production budget must have been about a hundred bucks! You could see strings all over the place. Sometimes it's best to leave those fond memories in the past I guess. But it was fun to see and my son who was five at the time loved it!

Marshall, Will, and Holly
On a routine expedition
Met the greatest earthquake ever known.
High on the rapids
It struck their tiny raft.
And plunged them down a thousand feet below.

To the Land of the Lost.
To the Land of the Lost.
To the Land of the Lost.

(Then their dad went through the time portal (fired from the show?) and the song went like this...)

Will and Holly Marshall, as the earth beneath them trembled
Lost their father through the door of time.
Uncle Jack went searching and found those kids at last
And now they're looking for a way to escape
From the Land of the Lost.

(ENDING THEME)

When I look all around, I can't believe the things I've found.
Now I need to find my way. I'm lost I'm lost find me.
Living in the Land of the Lost
